Maria Nicanor, Curator of the BMW Guggenheim Lab and Associate Curator, Architecture, joined the Guggenheim’s curatorial staff in October 2005. She heads the curatorial team at the BMW Guggenheim Lab. Nicanor has worked on a number of Guggenheim exhibitions and is focused on the role of architecture in museum practice, as well as the historical development of cities. She holds a BA in Art History from the Autonoma University, Madrid, and Sorbonne University, Paris; an MA in Museum Studies from New York University; and a Ph.D. (ABD) from the Autonoma University, Madrid, with a focus on architectural history and theory.
