Roslisham Ismail (a.k.a. Ise) was born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, in 1972, and graduated from Mara University Of Technology in 1997. His art explores urban popular culture through interactive events. In 2005, he took part, with Ruangrupa, in the Instanbul Biennial. In 2006, he was an artist-in-residence at the Gunnery Studio at Art Space, Sydney, and had a solo exhibition at the city’s 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. Ismail is co-founder of Sentap, a quarterly art publication.
